Bibíana Fernández was born on February 13, 1954, in Morocco. At four years old her family moved to Malaga, then on to Barcelona when she was in her teens.

While in Barcelona she would record her first disc, " Lady Champagne ". Following SRS, which she had in England performed by Dr. James Dalrymple, at age 23, she made her movie debut in 1977 in a appropriately named film "Cambio de sexo" (Sex Change).
Bibí has starred in several Pedro Almodóvar films in the 80's and 90's. None of these played on her transsexuality. Many fans and the film critics in the early part of her career were unaware that Bibí was transgendered.
In 1994 she changed her name from Bibíana Andersen to Bibíana Fernández. She is married to Cuban model Asdrúbal (March 2000) and continues to make wonderful movies.
