Sharon, is one of the biggest popstars in Israel. Her material is mostly in the dance/techno-style, but she also shows clear influences from cabaret, Israeli pop and Arabic music. She has so far released three albums, one mini-album, one compilation album and a few singles. In addition to great fame in Israel, she is famous on the NY club scene - and HUGE on the pirate music market in the Arab world.

Around the time Sharon was age 13, new wave washed over Israel. "Everybody had their favorites," Dana recalls. "Duran Duran, Wham!, and Culture Club. I loved Boy George, Cyndi Lauper, Divine, and Eurythmics." It was a great time. "Men and women could wear the same clothes. It was even fashionable. I wasn't sitting there thinking 'If they accept Boy George they might accept me,' but I think it was entering my consciousness like a green flag: Be what you want to be." She started wearing makeup, and to his delight found that he was treated like a girl.

Her win at the 1998 Eurovision Song Contest, held in Birmingham, England, gave her well-deserved recognition throughout Europe. Dana's song, "Diva", took first place in that contest among 25 participating countries.
