Patron Frontier and Western Shooting Sports Association. A Trustee on the Carterton District Trust. A Trustee on Clareville's Chapel Trust. Appointed as a Justice of the Peace 1997. Former Chair of the Southern Wairarapa Safer Community. Elected to the Council as Urban Ward Councillor in 1993. Former National Councillor Local Government NZ (zone 4 rep.) 1998 - 1999. Currently on the Local Government, Environment and Primary Production select committees. Labour Party Member for Wairarapa in the New Zealand Government.
